Shopping Tips

Don't ever go shopping when you are hungry. Shopping when you are hungry makes it harder to not do impulse buying, usually buying junk, just to stop your growling.

If you see an item that's about to expire, or already expired, ask about a discount. Employees might agree to mark down the price if it's expiring the next day, so just ask! I once bought 68.25 pounds of expired peanut butter for $49.50. Had I paid the normal price, I would of paid $256.41. Total savings: $206.91.

Don't think you have to fill your shopping cart. Shopping carts are growing because testing show that the bigger they are, the more customers buy. Only buy what you already planned to buy when you got to the store. Stick to your list!

Keep your fridge clean, or you'll end up with stuff growing in there and changing from solids to liquids. The leftovers are creating their own ecosystem!! Toss the old stuff out and keep it clean in there.

Stay away from the corner store or gas station! These are some of the most expensive stores, up with airport stores.

Health Tips

Eat shortly before you get hungry: this helps control your appetite cravings and keeps your metabolism rate high all day long.

Exercise at the tube: replace your sofa with a stationary bike or treadmill so you at least lose some calories while watching TV.

Get the most from those sweets: if you got a sweet tooth, eat it right after your workout. This is when your body benefits the most from a high glycemic index carbohydrate to give you a rapid fuel replenishment in your muscles.

Take in enough calories: very low calorie diets will work...at first, but very soon they will slow down your metabolic rate to where you don't lose any more weight. Eat enough to provide the calories to exercise so you can then train harder and increase your muscle and metabolic rate, and also burn fat.
